Govt completes preparations to privatise 5 national institutions: Soomro
Two power plants, convention centre, SME Bank and Services Hotel are part of privatization plan.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Privatisation Muhammad Mian Soomro on Wednesday said that government has completed preparations to privatise five national institutions, Dunya News reported.
Talking to media informally in Islamabad, the privatization minister said that two power plants, convention centre, SME Bank and Services Hotel are part of privatization plan.
Muhammad Mian Soomro says US President Donald Trump did not talk to him about buying Roosevelt Hotel New York. He said that government was not adamant on selling the Roosevelt Hotel but rather pursuing plan to lease it out or work in a joint venture with the private sector.
Replying to a question, Muhammad Mian Soomro said that 28 pilots found to have tainted licenses have been fired by the government while show-cause notices have been issued to 58 other.
