PMLN demands abolition of NAB
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday demanded abolition of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) instead of amendment in NAB laws.
Addressing a press conference with former Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, former Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq rejected reports of talks with government over NAB amendment ordinance and said that the NAB act is being linked to the 18th Amendment, which isn’t true and instead of amending NAB, it should be abolished.
He questioned that why no inqurries are being held on Malam Jabba, BRT, sugar and flour cases and urged Supreme Court (SC) to punish those who robbed Rs 40 billion of EOBI.
During the press conference, former Federal Minister for Railways and senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the NAB was established by Pervaiz Musharaf for his opponents. He also admitted that accountability process was also not perfect during government of his party.
He also condemned issuance of notices to Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah and said that notices are nothing but political revenge. Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has served a long imprisonment for his crime of being son of Shehbaz Sharif.
Khawaja Saad Rafique also criticized government’s strategy of dealing with coronavirus and said that instead of fighting coronavirus, a war is being fought with the opposition. He also criticized Corona Tiger Force and said that there is no need to create such a force when machinery of state exists.
