Case registered against target killing of Chinese national

Sections of murder, attempt to murder and anti-terrorism have been included in the case.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday registered a case under the Anti Terrorist Act, against the target killing of a Chinese national in Karachi.

According to details, an FIR of the incident was registered with the CTD Garden police station on behalf of the government against unidentified suspects.

Sections of murder, attempt to murder and anti-terrorism have been included in the case.

A source close to the investigation revealed that the weapons used in the murder have not been used before in any criminal activity, however; further probe is underway.


‘Targeted’ attack


A 46-year-old Chinese national, Chen Zhu, was killed while another citizen was injured among two people on Monday in a target killing incident reported in Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

Police said that the two targeted foreign nationals were employed by a Chinese shipping company and resided in Lalazaar area.

According to the details, Zhu fatally received two bullets in his head while the other, Ye Fan, ran out of the car saving his life. Gunfire by the unidentified attackers also wounded a 30-year-old passer-by.
