(Web Desk) – Thick fog blanketed various cities across Punjab, including Lahore, disrupting rail, road and air traffic on Sunday night.

Thick fog had badly affected road traffic in several cities of Punjab, reported Dunya News. Motorway sections from Lahore to Pindi Bhattian and Faisalabad to Gojra had been closed due to low visibility with the Motorway police requesting people to avoid unnecessary travelling.

According to Dunya News, fog had also disrupted flight operations at various airports in Punjab. Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport was shut down and flight operations were cancelled as thick fog dropped visibility down to 20 metres.

Faisalabad, Multan, Narowal, Bahawalnagar, Sadiqabad and other areas also remained covered with fog.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in major parts of the country from today (Monday). Dense fog is likely to blanket parts of Punjab and upper Sindh during early morning and late night.
