Zardari, JUI-F chief discuss potential alliance in KP

Pakistan People's Party has ramped-up party's organisation in KP province.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former president and co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman have contemplated joining forces against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province for Senate elections.

Pakistan People’s Party has ramped-up party’s organisation in KP province against the government of PTI for upcoming Senate elections.

Reportedly, JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman and Zardari convened a meeting in Bilawal House and discussed possible alliance against PTI. The two leaders contemplated joining forces with other opposition parties in KP.

Sources privy to the political party reported that Dr Qayyum Soomro, Zardari’s close aide attended the meeting in Bilawal House after he was last seen with then freshly election Balochistan chief minister (CM) whose terms with Zardari were reported to have grown for over a year.

It was reported that Zardari and Fazlur Rehman agreed to further discuss possible alliance in KP after other opposition parties are approached.

It should be noted here that JUI-F, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Awami National Party and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) constitute the opposition in KP province while PTI holds the government in alliance with JI.
