Interior Ministry refuses to put Ishaq Dar's name on ECL
No such order has been issued by the accountability court, the ministry informed.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Ministry of Interior on Thursday refused to place Senator Ishaq Dar’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL), sources told.
In a reply submitted to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the ministry has asserted that the anti-graft watchdog has no concrete evidence on the matter, whereas, no such order has been issued by the accountability court.
The development comes a day after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ended the stay order on the accountability court proceedings against Ishaq Dar.

While hearing Dar’s plea, a two-member division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb had directed the accused to appear in the accountability court.
The short order was issued a day after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted its response to the IHC and stated that a proclaimed offender has to present himself before the court to seek exemption from appearance. The NAB had also asked the court to allow the resumption of corruption proceedings against the former finance minister.
