Police fail to arrest Zainab's murderer despite tall claims

Police apprehended a man from Bhatta Chowk in Lahore having resemblance with Zainab murder suspect.

KASUR (Dunya News) – Police officers on Wednesday have failed to arrest murderers of seven-year-old Zainab are still at large despite provincial government’s tall claims.

Banners, demanding the Punjab government to nab the culprits as early possible, are placed across the metropolis while the residents are also criticizing inappropriate security arrangements.

Earlier today, police apprehended a man from Bhatta Chowk in Lahore having resemblance with Zainab murder suspect. The man has been handed over to Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

On the other hand, investigators have collected significant data through geo-fencing. The people suspected to be involved in the rape and murder of the seven-year-old girl included those who departed from her residence and passed by it are also being probed.

Punjab Chief Minister’s advisor Dr Umer Saif published the report pertaining to the developments made in the case.

The DNA test points towards a serial killer as the recent incident has much similarity with previous mishaps.

Zainab’s medical report confirmed ample evidence of assault and rape on the little girl’s body. She had torture marks on nose, neck, and other parts of the body as the rapist slit her wrists and choked her to death.
