PHC disqualifies administration for foreign trade agreements

Peshawar High Court has disqualified political agents from making foreign trade agreements. The court has directed the Ministry of Industries and Trade and Ministry of Interior to approve the agreement between Pak-Afghan traders and political administration.

The petitioner told the court that he imports fruit from Afghanistan and political administration stops him at several points for checking but it was agreed in the agreement between Pak-Afghan Traders and Political Agent Khyber Agency that checking will be held at only a single point.The court remarked that political administration is not the sole authority of the agreement. The court rejecting the plea directed the petitioner to ask the government to approve the agreement and then again approach the court.
