KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has remarked on top court’s verdict disqualifying Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretary general Jahangir Tareen for life on Friday that ‘ATM of the political party is out’.

PPP chairman offered his reaction to the verdict delivered today in a post on the social media.

PPP leader has been criticising Jahangir Tareen and chief of the political front Imran Khan since 2013 elections by claiming that Tareen is the ‘resource bank’ of the party.

Earlier in the day today, Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) disqualified Jahangir Tareen in a case pursued by Hanif Abbasi of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

PTI chief Imran Khan has expressed reservations over the verdict and announced to lodge a review petition with a top court s bench.

It should be mentioned here that Imran Khan was also taken to the court by PML-N in a like petition but the verdict delivered today acquitted Khan stating that he could not be disqualified as Member of the National Assembly (MNA) on the evidence provided by the claimants.

Following the verdict, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued a notification denotifying the former secretary general of PTI.

Member of PTI, Firdous Aashiq Awan announced in a media talk in the federal capital that MNA belonging to PTI Asad Umar would act as the secretary general of the party following the disqualification of Tareen.
