Top religio-political parties revive MMA
Five religio-political parties have joined hands to reinvigorate Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Top religio-political parties of the country have joined hands on Wednesday to revive the defunct Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), Dunya News reported.
The decision to reinvigorate MMA was taken during a meeting held at the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) chief Allama Awais Norani in Karachi on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq, Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith president Senator Sajid Mir, head of the Tehreek-e-Islami Pakistan Syed Sajid Naqvi, JUP chief Allama Awais Norani and others
Briefing the media after the meeting, JUP chief Allama Awais Norani said that MMA will contest the next general election on the election symbol of ‘book’. It was decided in the meeting that any party which a part of government in the centre of the provinces will distance itself from the government within a month.
