Lahore: Punjab University female student dies in bus accident
PU students blocked the road in protest against the administration as the driver fled the scene
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A female student of the Punjab University (PU) died in bus accident before the driver fled the scene while students protested against the varsity administration.
The incident took place within the vicinity of Muslim Town police station where PU student Irum couldn’t succumb to her injuries and died on the spot. Police arrived at the scene, however, the bus driver had fled after the tragic accident.
Heart wrenching scenes were witnessed at Irum’s residence where her family members and relatives cried over the loss of their precious child. The family members told that she was very talented, adding that she had even achieved scholarship for her good grades. “I told Irum not to go to Lahore as several car accidents occur there,” cried her brother.
The students protested against the bus accident and demanded the administration of holding the driver accountable. They blocked the main roads and continued raising slogans against the administration.
Police dispersed the students on the promise of quick action. The Model Town police station registered case against the driver and assured speedy action.
