Imran Farooq murder case: Non-bailable arrest warrant of MQM founder re-issued
Dr Imran Farooq, a British-Pakistani politician was murdered in London in 2010.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Anti-terrorism court (ATC) has re-issued non-bailable arrest warrant of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder on Wednesday in Dr Imran Farooq murder case.
An ATC judge heard the case today during which freshly appointed prosecutor of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khawaja Imtiaz sought the court to grant time to complete the documentation.
Indictment of the three accused nabbed in the case namely, Khalid Shamim, Moazzam Ali and Mohsin Ali was postponed today again, before the hearing was adjourned until December 20.
It should be mentioned here that a case was lodged against the three on December 5, 2015 and they were presented before a magistrate for remands on the following December 6.
However, the ATC has ordered Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) again today to arrest MQM founder and present in coming hearing.
A Joint Investigation Team report (JIT) released in 2015 had asserted conspiracy to assassinate Dr Imran Farooq, member of the political front was hatched in the United Kingdon (UK), where MQM founder has been residing in self-imposed exile since 1992, and Pakistan.
The JIT had begun interrogations with the suspects on June 26, 2015 during which they had confessed that the conspiracy to murder Imran Farooq was hatched in Pakistan and the UK by MQM founder,
