(Dunya News) – As time passes, history leaves behind legacies in which people try to find the memories of the eras gone by. Those who find things that travel them back to the past, then try to understand and learn about history – how things and people used to be back then.
One such place to learn about times that will never return is Lahore Fort’s Mughal Gallery.
In a beautiful structure bursting with ‘Khatam’, an ancient Persian technique of inlaying, ‘Pietra dura’, a decorative art from the Indian subcontinent and other beautiful engraving techniques like ‘Ghalib Kari’, the Mughal Gallery preserves coinages from the times of different Mughal emperors who once ruled the subcontinent.
Other than the ancient currencies, the gallery also contains handwritten scripts, letters, legal documents, pictures and many other relics from the Indian subcontinent that reveal to us the lives of people who lived here during different ages.
