ISLAMABAD (Daily Dunya) - Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) has imposed ban on foreign qualified MBBS doctors over doing house job in Pakistan s private and government hospitals.

According to the orders issued by PMDC’s acting registrar, such students have to complete one-year clinical internship from the country they have received their medical degree or else they will not be registered in PMDC as doctors.

However; the rule does not applies to those students who have done internship before April 1, 2017.

The students who have received MBBS degree from a foreign university and seek PMDC registration should have completed their five-year education and passed the National Examination Board (NEB) test.

While talking to Daily Dunya, PMDC president Professor Dr Shabbir Ahmed explained the reason behind the ban and said that foreign medical colleges charge millions from the students and provide them degree but they do not facilitate them with house job and send back to Pakistan for that purpose.
