KARACHI (Roznama Dunya)- After facing extreme backlash over illegal appointments in education department, Murad-led Sindh government may be in hot water again over alleged fake appointments in Sindh Auqaf department.

It has been unearthed that fake employees are working in tombs and shrines functioning under Sindh Auqaf department.

As per investigation, Auqaf department hired services of individuals on daily basis and fetched funds in million from provincial exchequer on name of 500 regular employees. Auqaf department has spent at least Rs100 million in the past three years on shrines’ administration but when committee summoned list of employees, officials of the Auqaf department failed in producing one.

Committee chairman Nusrat Sehar Abbasi stated that threats were given to her over exposing financial mismanagement but she vowed not to step back.

Meanwhile, Sindh Zakar & Ushr Department Secretary Riaz Ahmed apprised committee members that employees were appointed after direct consent from Sindh Chief Minister.
