Sources told CM House received the summon but no confirmation has been issued yet
(Web Desk) - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received a summon to appear before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), tasked by Supreme Court to probe Panama case, on June 17.
The summon was received by the CM House on Tuesday, according to sources, but there has been no confirmation from any representative. It should be noted that Punjab CM s brother and the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, is already scheduled to appear before the JIT on June 15 (Thursday).
It was earlier reported that the JIT probe would extend to almost the entire Sharif family including the dead. Shehbaz Sharif s family was the only exception until now. Sources told the financial matters of Shehbaz Sharif s first wife have also been under JIT’s scrutiny.
Premier s son Hussain Nawaz has appeared five times before the JIT for interrogation into Sharif family s financial matters and questions raised in Panama case. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will also be summoned by the JIT soon, according to sources.
Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had reportedly said in a media talk that the JIT should summon Shehbaz Sharif if it wants to do a PhD on the Sharif family . It looks as if his wish has been granted.
