Abdul Wali Khan University reopens after Mashal's lynching
Police conducted a search operation in university hostels before opening of the campuses.
MARDAN (Dunya News) – Five campuses of Mardan’s Abdul Wali Khan University including Main Campus, Chitral Campus, Buner Campus, Timergara Campus and Pabbi Campus have on Monday reopened after 40 days of Mashal Khan’s murder.
Heavy contingents of police are deployed in the university to avoid any unwanted incident. University administration has also declared that all political activities inside the institution’s premises will remain banned.
Police also conducted a search operation in university hostels before opening of the campuses, and recovered weapons and drugs. The illegal stuff has been confiscated and investigation has been started.
Shankar Campus of the university will reopen on May 24, whereas, educational activities in Garden Campus will resume from May 25.
It is worth mentioning here that Mashal Khan was lynched by a mob of students on April 13 for alleged blasphemy, and administration had closed the university after the tragic incident.
More than 50 suspects were arrested afterwards by the security forces, who will be presented before the counter-terrorism court.
Let it be known that the no blasphemy accusations on Mashal Khan could be proved, and the prime suspects have also confessed to killing Mashal Khan due to conflict in ideologies.
