Variant of JF-17 Thunder makes successful test flight

According to the air force, JF-17B is entering the testing phase now

(Web Desk) – Fighter jet developed by Chinese and Pakistani aeronautical engineers, JF-17B made its successful debut flight in China on Friday.

The fighter jet completed a successful maiden flight in Chengdu of Sichuan province, a press release of Pakistan Air Force read.



The aircraft is a variant of JF-17 Thunder, collaborated on earlier by Pakistan and China. This variant is a double-seat fighter jet that according to the air force is major milestone towards self-reliance.

Executive Vice President of Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Li Yuhai hosted an event in this regard which was attended by Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal, Sohail Aman.



Production of the JF-17 Thunder variant was given a go-ahead by Pakistan and China in a joint ceremony at Chengdu Aerospace Corporation in 2016.

However, according to the air force, JF-17 Thunder B is entering the testing phase now.
