The commission has ordered to hold a re-election in PK-88

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan has disqualified member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and provincial advisor, Abdul Munim Khan on Wednesday.

The commission has ordered to hold a re-election in PK-88 nullifying the results of General Elections 2013.

Abdul Munim had contested against candidate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, Sher Alam and won the elections. However, Sher Alam filed a petition in the commission claiming that candidate of PTI held a public office until a month before the election which is against the code.

A candidate is required to wait for two years after leaving a government job to participate in the elections.

The disqualified PTI official has been ordered by ECP to turn back the facilities and the salaries he withdrew from the government.

The de-seated member of the assembly was serving as Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism.
