PTI demanded that voting rights should be given to overseas Pakistanis as well

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has demanded that the upcoming elections should be held under the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) system.

While introducing new suggestions in electoral reforms, PTI demanded that a parliamentary committee, consisting of members from government and opposition, should be formed for setting up the caretaker government prior to the elections.

The party also demanded that age limit of 65 years should be fixed for the secretary of election commission and that he should be appointed by the commission itself.

PTI called for the voting rights to be given to overseas Pakistanis as well.

The party demanded that the voters list should be made public sixty days prior to the elections and ban on rallies and usage of loud speakers during the election campaign should be lifted.

PTI also demanded that the essentials of polling process should be transferred from one place to another through Pakistan Army and that the soldiers of Pakistan Army should be deployed both in and outside the polling stations until the results are announced.
