KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Good news for the people living in remote areas of the country on Thursday as Edhi’s air ambulance service is about to be restored after a gap of three years. The plane did a test flight today and will be operation soon, reported Dunya News.
The air ambulance will help take the immediate medical help to the remote areas in calamities and accidents as the largest private ambulance service of the world continues its mission to save people’s lives.
The air ambulance service that had been introduced initially by Edhi in 1988 had been discontinued three years ago. It is now being restored and the air operating certificate has been issued to the plane after test flight and check.
The plane has been made operational again with Rs 30 million. Aircraft engineers say that the plane can be sent on any operation on a short notice while the volunteers told Dunya News that they’ve taken part in several operations during the last 27 years.
One helicopter of the air ambulance service is still out of order due to the error in its engine. It may also be restored in order to serve the poor people living in the country.
