Fawad Chaudhry says Imran Khan didn't oppose PSL, only expressed concern regarding terrorism

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry has on Tuesday said that PTI chairman Imran Khan will not come to watch Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore, reported Dunya News.

Explaining the party chairman’s position on the issue, Fawad Chaudrhy said that Imran Khan hadn’t opposed PSL final being held in Lahore but had merely expressed his concern regarding terrorism. However, he said that Imran Khan wouldn’t come to Lahore to watch the PSL final.

After Imran Khan’s initial opposition to PSL final being held in Lahore, PTI has started explaining and retreating from the earlier position. The central spokesperson said that Imran Khan is neither against cricket nor against PSL, but what’s the point of holding a match under curfew with 30,000 security officials on the roads.

Explaining the decision to withdraw the resolution submitted by the party in Punjab Assembly against holding PSL final in Lahore, Chaudhry said that the resolution was against party policy.

Moreover, PTI has condemned the alleged action against Pakhtoons in Punjab. The party has also set up a special cell on the issue.

PTI leadership also said that the All Parties Conference (APC) called by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on the issue of military courts was useless now since the parliamentary leaders had already reached a decision.
