Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah spoke to reporters in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - While condemning alleged racial profiling, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah on Tuesday said Pashtuns are being labelled suspicious across Punjab. He said a whole community can’t be pigeonholed as terrorist if a single person out of them commits an appalling act.

At time when army has launched operation Radd-ul-Fassad against terrorists, such acts will only increase dissension in country and pose great threats to unity of federation, the Opposition Leader told reporters in Islamabad.

While Shah blamed Punjab government for overseeing this campaign, he urged prime minister to take notice of this vicious practice.

Shah also claimed presence of militants’ sanctuaries in Punjab.

When a reporter asked Shah either it was a deliberate or undeliberate act, the PPP leader termed it maladroitness of the provincial administration.

Earlier today, a delegate of Pashtuns, headed by Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Muqam, met Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and informed him about their reservations on the matter.

Combing operation is not aimed at a specific community. Pashtuns living in Punjab are like our brothers and their security is very dear to us, Shehbaz Sharif told the delegation.

After the meeting, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah told media that CM Shehbaz has ensured to address all the reservations.

He said the government will not let the terrorists succeed in their heinous purposes.
