Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack in the strongest of terms

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News/APP) – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain have strongly condemned terror blast outside Punjab Assembly on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam on Monday that left 13 persons martyred while dozens of others injured.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister House, Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack in the strongest of terms and urged the nation to not lose heart and continue their resolve over war on terror.

He expressed deep sorrow over martyrdom of Chief Traffic Officer, Deputy Inspector General among seven precious lives in the blast.

“Both President and Prime Minister said such dastardly acts cannot shake the resolve of the nation,” Radio Pakistan reported. The premier has directed to provide best medical facilities to the injured of the blast.

“Today, tragedy has struck Lahore. Alongside innocent civilians, we have lost two of our own brave police officers Captain Mubeen and Zahid Gondal. They were good men who died serving and protecting the people of this great country”.

“They will be vindicated in our constant struggle for peace and security, and honored as martyrs, the bravest and finest of men who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their people,” the Prime Minister said in his statement issued by the PM’s Media Office here after the Lahore blast.

“Terrorism isn’t a novelty for us. Our story has been one of constant struggle against its grasp, and a fight for the soul of Pakistan,” he said.

The Prime Minister stated, “We have fought this fight against the terrorists among us, and will continue to fight it until we liberate our people of this cancer, and avenge those who have laid down their lives for us.”

The President House reported that Mamnoon Hussain has condoled deaths of innocent people.

President Mamnoon Hussain said that the sacrifices rendered by the sons of soil in the war against terrorism would not go in vein as the state was fully committed to fight this menace and the terrorists would be taken to task.

In a separate statement, Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. He strongly condemned the terror blast.

Chairman of the Senate, Raza Rabbani said that cowardly attacks cannot deter resolve of the nation in war on terror.
