Khawaja Imran Nazir said that they will not allow fake medicines to be sold

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The government and medicine sellers have been head to head for the past few days following the approval of drug act. Both made demands via press conferences on Monday.

The Punjab Heath Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir arrived in DGPR office and made it clear that negotiations are not at halt, however, neither the drug Act will be lifted nor fake and substandard medicines will be allowed to sell in market.

“The medicine manufacturers will not be allowed to sabotage the bill”, he said. Khawaja Imran Nazir affirmed that the government will not bow before drug retailers while they are free to come and negotiate terms.

He said, “Those who were in contact in the morning have hit the roads at afternoon. We have said nothing to drug dealers and medical store owners but they are still protesting for no reason.”

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced ‘jihad’ against manufacturers of fake and substandard, harmful medicines in his recent tweet.
