Decision over ban on JuD to be taken soon: Nisar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said on Monday that decision over whether to ban Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) or not would be taken within two or three days however, it has been under observation since 2010.
In a media talk in the federal capital after inauguration of an executive passport office, Nisar said that the banned outfit was designated a terrorist organisation by the United States (US) years ago and has been ‘under observation’ in Pakistan since 2010.
More information would be given out in the issue tomorrow, Nisar asserted.
Jamaat-ud-Dawa has been listed as banned outfit in resolution of Security Council of the United Nations (UN) and every state is required to take action, Nisar said. He added that Pakistan is going to take an action against the outfit now which was pending.
While talking about policies of US President, Donald J. Trump, the federal minister said that his steps would not target terrorists but victims of terrorism.
To link Islam with terrorism is actually the negation of war on terror, he added.
Nisar said that Trump’s policies would damage international union against terrorism and favour banned organisations. He said that largely, Muslims across the world became victims of extremism. Followers of peace-loving Islam constitute around 1.5 billion population of the world while a few hundred out of them are misguided, he said.
Nisar said that the entire Muslim population could not be held responsible for a small extremist faction.
The federal minister said that issue over US visa ban on Pakistanis is of great significance and that he does not know how Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) perceived the issue to give out a statement over it.

The federal Minister also talked about the case of ‘missing’ bloggers and said that the government never indulged itself in ‘disappearing’ social activists and has not such policy.
All four the ‘missing’ persons have safely reached their homes, he added.
His statement over the alleged missing persons came in after five activists had gone missing earlier this month to return home after roughly over a week and a half.
He announced that 14 new passport issuance outlets would start functioning by the end of March. Offices in Peshawar, Gujranwala and Quetta among other cities would be inaugurated soon.
