Karachi Inter Board corruption case: Former chairman secures bail
Former chairman has secured pre-arrest bail while former deputy secretary Qazi Arshad sent to jail
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Former chairman of Karachi Inter Board Akhtar Ghauri has on Thursday secured a pre-arrest bail in the corruption case worth millions of rupees. Meanwhile, former deputy secretary Qazi Arshad has been sent to jail, reported Dunya News.
According to details, anti-corruption department has registered a case against Intermediate Board’s former chairman Akhtar Ghauri, Deputy Controller Imran Ghauri and Deputy Secretary Qazi Arshad over allegations of illegal appointments and contracts.
Anti-corruption department presented Qazi Arshad today before the provincial anti-corruption court today. On the other hand, Akhtar Ghauri who was considered a fugitive in the case secured a pre-arrest bail from Sindh High Court for seven days.
Sending Qazi Arshad to jail on judicial remand, the provincial anti-corruption court demanded the charge sheet on January 12.
The court also issued notices to the government lawyers to be presented on January 7 to present their opinion on the suspect’s bail plea.
