Bodies of four residents of Chitral were shifted using C-130 aircraft today
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that identification process of all 48 bodies has been completed after a flight of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) crashed near Havelian on December 7.
Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that 33 bodies were handed over to the bereaved families while 14 including those of three foreigners were to be handed over. Grieving families of the victims would be given ex-gratia amount of Rs 5.5 million, according to the minister.
He was addressing the media at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) when he announced completion of identification process. Embassies concerned were being approached to dispatch bodies of three foreign nationals who lost their lives in the ATR crash.
Administration of the national airline thoroughly cooperated in shifting bodies from Abbottabad to Islamabad, their identification and handover, the minister said.
Earlier today, bodies of four residents of Chitral were shifted using C-130 aircraft.
