Erdogan concludes two-day Pakistan trip with dinner at Lahore Fort

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Reccep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish president has left for Allama Iqbal International Airport after attending a dinner hosted in Lahore Fort and inaugurating Greater Iqbal Park in the provincial capital on Thursday.

Erdogan’s visit to Lahore concluded his two-day trip to Pakistan along with first lady of Turkey and a delegation of ministers.

A dinner hosted by the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab was the concluding meet-and-greet between Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and the Turkish leader.

During the time Erdogan remained in Lahore, routes from Allama Iqbal International Airport to Mall Road and Lahore Fort were shut for all kinds of vehicles however, reportedly, traffic has begun to move after hours of halt.

Earlier in the day, Erdogan addressed two joint press conferences with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad and before that he had attended a dinner hosted by President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday night.

Key engagement of the Turkish president during his visit remained his address to the joint parliament which was attended by Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif.

During his address in the House, Erdogan called for solution of Kashmir dispute according to the will of Kashmiris. He asserted that West was supplying arms to rebel groups and that Turkey was pursuing action against terrorists.

The lawmakers applauded the Turkish President for condemning elements that were linking terrorism and Islam.
