Amjad Sabri murdered to avenge 'blasphemy', reveal murderers

Amjad Sabri had been murdered on June 22 by Asim Capri, Ishaq Bobby, not MQM target-killers

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – The famous Qawwali singer Amjad Sabri, who had been murdered on June 22, was killed actually for the alleged blasphemy. His murderers Asim Capri and Ishaq Bobby revealed before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the murder that they killed him because he had committed ‘blasphemy’ on a TV channel, reported Dunya News.

Dunya News Bureau Chief Rehan Hashmi told on ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Saath’ that Ishaq Bobby had been wearing a P-cap at the time of Amjad Sabri’s killing and also at the time of killing military soldiers. Asim Capri had been driving the bike while Ishaq Bobby was sitting behind him.

The investigations revealed that Ishaq Bobby was a keen follower of social media and had decided one month prior to the killing of Amjad Sabri that he had to be taken out. Hashmi revealed that Asim Capri had been assigned by Bobby to follow Amjad Sabri and after following him for one month they went on to kill him after complete planning. The two were wearing masks as well in order to conceal his identity and took the longer route so that nobody would guess why they were doing it.

“According to our sources, Ishaq Bobby used 30-bore pistol to remove the risk of survival. They had also bought a house in the same locality. Ishaq Bobby was the shooter and he had strictly told Asim Capri to not fire. They told the JIT that Amjad Sabri had committed ‘blasphemy’ and that was when they decided to kill him”, Rehan said.

However, it is clear now that Amjad Sabri had been killed by Ishaq Bobby and Asim Capri while Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had nothing to do with it. It is pertinent to mention here that there was speculation in the media previously that Amjad Sabri had been killed by some target-killer linked with MQM. “It is official now. Forensic report is here. They prove that these killers are not involved in just 32 cases, as believed earlier, but were involved in probably more than fifty cases”, Rehan revealed.
