Drills would help both China and Pakistan to neutralise terror threats

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif reviewed Pakistan-China joint military exercises at National Counter Terrorism Training Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi during a visit on Thursday.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the army chief addressed a gathering in the centre after reviewing joint exercises called “YOUYI-VI 2016”.

Chief of the Army Staff said during his address that foreign countries were learning off Pakistan’s experience in war on terror and Pakistan Army considered it its responsibility to share to contribute to peace in the world.

He lauded the joint military exercises and said that the drills would help both China and Pakistan to neutralise terror threats.

Earlier today, Qatari Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Dr Khalid Bin Muhammad Al Attiyah called on the army chief in Rawalpindi.

Matters of mutual interest including defence and security cooperation were discussed in the meeting.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s successes in fight against terrorism and efforts for regional peace and stability.

The visiting defence minister laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
