British NSA calls on army chief General Raheel

The British NSA earlier convened a meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – British National Security Adviser, Sir Mark Lyall called on Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif on Monday and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the British representative paid rich tribute to Pakistan Army’s efforts against terrorism.

Separately, the Chief of the Army Staff visited lever transplant centre of the armed forces in Rawalpindi and enquired on different patient under treatment there. The army chief was briefed over working of different sections of the facility.

According to the ISPR, the facility is the third of its kind in Pakistan and the first of the armed services where until today at least 260 surgeries have been done.



The Chief of the Army Staff was accompanied by Lt General Anwar Ali Hyder and Commandant of the military hospital, Major General Tariq Hassan during the visit.

The British NSA also convened a meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif earlier today.

Mark Lyall Grant acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces, police and other law enforcement agencies in war on terror.

He said that commitment of the political government and armed forces, supported by the people of Pakistan have resulted in phenomenal victory against extremism.

Grant also congratulated the premier on successful completion of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) support programme.
