Two dead, 10 injured as IED blast target police vehicle in Quetta

The main target was a police van in the blast on Sariab Road.

Quetta (Dunya News) – Quetta (Dunya News) – At least two police officials were found dead and ten people including eight police officials were wounded as blast jolted Quetta city, reported Dunya News.

According to details, the main target of the attack was a police patrol vehicle on Sariab Road.

More than 10 officials of Rapid Response Force (RRF) were on their way for patrol from Qasim Line when their vehicle was targeted by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

Two of the policemen Muhammad Aslam and Ghulam Farooq died on the spot whereas the injured were immediately rushed to Civil and Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

Sariab Road was closed for traffic after the blast.

Police and Frontier Corps (FC) conducted search operation of the after surrounding the area.

The intensity of the blast was so severe that it broke the nearby buildings’ glasses while causing stampede in the nearby locals.

Governor and Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan condemned the blast and said that the terrorists will not be spared.
