Congo virus patients' toll hits 27 in Balochistan
Death toll stands at 10 in Balochistan
QUETTA (Dunya News) – 12-year-old boy has been diagnosed with Congo Virus on Saturday taking the total number of affectees in Balochistan to 27 while ten have died so far.
Sources privy to the hospital said that Abdul Wali was brought for a check-up around four days ago after his nose and mouth started to bleed.
Meanwhile, another patient, 37-year-old Abdul Malik who hails from Shikarpur was admitted to Fatima Jinnah General and Chest Hospital on suspicion of the same disease.
The total number of people who were admitted to different hospitals for scan for the fatal virus in Balochistan stands at 94 out of which 27 were found positive.
On Friday, one of the affected patients, 55-year-old Rehmatullah who was under treatment, died taking the death toll to 10 in Balochistan.
Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) spreads through vectors that carry the virus found in cattle.
Number of patients is rising as forthcoming Eidul Azha has prompted people to buy sacrificial animals.
