Patriotism at peak as hundreds attend flag-lowering ceremony at Wagah

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Hundreds attended the flag-lowering ceremony at Wagah border on the occasion of the country’s 70th Independence Day on Sunday. The attendants witnessed the Rangers’ parade and raised enthusiastic slogans showing their love for the country, reported Dunya News.

The atmosphere was filled with the beating of the drums, the raising of patriotic slogans and with cheers of the crowd as the attendants observed the Rangers march towards the Indian side of the border as part of the ritual while showing-off their strength. Rangers  personnel shook hands with their Indian counterparts as the flags of both neighbouring countries got lowered down in utmost harmony.

Special security arrangements were made for the event in order to prevent the unfolding of any unfortunate incident. Students belonging to the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar were also present at Wagah border as they also witnessed the proceedings.
