K-electric given approval for power procurement from Sindh Nooriabad Company
Load shedding in Karachi will decrease as a result of the agreement
KARACHI (Dunya News) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Monday gave green signal to K-electric for the procurement of 50 megawatts of electricity from the Sindh Nooriabad Power Company, reported Dunya News.
The price of the tariff set for procurement of electricity was set at Rs 7.99 per unit. K-electric shall be able to purchase electricity from Sindh Nooriabad Power Company for 25 years.
Load shedding in Karachi shall decrease as a result of the agreement between the two power companies whereas voltage supply shall also improve.
The agreement can be extended for a period of another 5 years once it completes the period of 25 years.
