Sindh CM leaves for Dubai to discuss issue of Rangers' policing powers

Asif Zardari has summoned PPP members to Dubai to discuss the issue.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has left for Dubai today (Saturday) to consult the matter of extension in Rangers‘ policing powers with top leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Earlier on Friday, Shah held a meeting with Karachi Corps Commander and assured him that the issue will be resolved soon after consultation with the PPP leadership. The meeting lasted for over two hours.

Reportedly, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has summoned party members to Dubai to discuss the matter today. 

Special powers given to Rangers under the Anti-Terrorism Act had expired on July 19 and the Sindh government has been reluctant to extend them.
