Nepra okays tariff for KAPCO's coal-fired power plant

KOT ADDU (Web Desk) - The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday approved Kot Addu Power Company’s (KAPCO) request for unconditional acceptance of upfront coal tariff for 660 MW coal power plant at Muzaffargarh, Punjab.

According to a document, KAPCO has secured an upfront tariff of Rs8.1176/kilowatt hour (kWh) for the project.

The decision has been intimated to the Federal Government for the purpose of notification of the approved tariff in the official gazette pursuant to Section 31(4) of the Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electric Power Act (XL of 1997).

The project will be completed within 48 months.
