Enraged locals take to street against power outage in Peshawar

The residents refused to call off protest despite district representative Arbab Asim's request.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Enraged locals on Monday staged protest against prolonged electricity loadshedding in Peshawar.

According to details, the villagers took to the streets and blocked Jamil Chowk by burning tyres. The protesters chanted slogans against Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) administration.



They said that power outage is on peak as summer season has arrived. They also told the media that they are witnessing power only for four hours.



The district representative Arbab Asim also reached the spot and negotiated with the locals but the demonstrators refused to reopen the road.



The residents urged the authorities to resolve the matter or else they would continue their protest.

Locals also protested against long durations of outages in Dera Ismail Khan and Swabi.
