The banners and flexes for May 1 rally were put up at Chairing Cross and adjoining areas.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) has removed banners and streamers belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from Mall Road today (Friday), Dunya News reported.

As per details, the banners and flexes for May 1 rally were put up at Chairing Cross and adjoining areas without paying dues to the PHA.

According to officials, the action will be expanded to other parts of the city. Banners and flexes put up without fees payment will be immediately removed.

On the contrary, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has brought letter written to the PHA Director General on April 28th to the surface.

In the letter, the party has sought permission for fixation of banners and streamers from April 29th till May 1st.

Rally organizer Aleem Khan revealed that PHA is not issuing fees demand notice at the behest of the provincial government.

PTI has followed all the rules, he added.

It may be mentioned here that the opposition party has announced countrywide protests against corruption from May 1 to put pressure on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is under tremendous pressure from the opposition parties to step down since his family members were named in the mass leak of offshore account data from the Panama firm Mossack Fonseca.
