Separate road accidents claim 12 lives, leave 15 injured

Police personnel have launched an investigation into both incidents.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least two people were killed while 12 others sustained injuries in a trailer-bus collision near Karachi‘s Super Highway toll plaza today (Saturday).

According to details, the incident took place when an ill-fated passenger bus en route to Hyderabad from Karachi rammed into a trailer near toll plaza, killing as many as two people and injuring 12 persons.



On getting the information, police personnel arrived at the scene and started rescue process.

The injured people, including women and children, were shifted to a nearby hospital, where several of them were said to be in critical condition and were recommended to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.



Separately in Okara, as many as two people were reportedly dead whereas three persons including a woman were wounded as a car hit a truck.

The injured were immediately transferred to the hospital in critical condition while bodies were sent to district hospital in Okara.

Meanwhile, police officers have launched an investigation into the matter after seizing truck.

Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan due to poorly maintained roads, violation of road safety rules and reckless driving. Traffic police officials say 90 percent accidents in the country are caused merely by human error.
