Nepra approves Rs 4.36/unit cut for April

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved Rs 4.36 per unit cut in power tariff as compensation for February, Dunya News reported Tuesday.

Nepra sanctioned Central Power Purchasing Agency’s (CPPA) plea in this regard.

The price reduction will not relief K-Electric’s customers and those who use around 300 units a month. According to Nepra, the price cut has come in as February’s fuel adjustment for April. More than 6 billion units were generated in February.

At least Rs 23 billion are supposed to be returned to the customers across the country following furnace oil price cut.

Country produces around 33 percent hydel power while relies on furnace oil for 65 percent production.
