Privatization Commission Chairman says no talks possible till restoration of flight operation
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Privatization Commission Chairman Muhammad Zubair has on Friday said that no talks were possible with Pakistan International Airline (PIA) employees unless the flight operations are restored and strike is called off, reported Dunya News.
Talking at Dunya News program, Zubair said that the government owned 91% shares of PIA while the private sector had 9%. He made it clear that no talks were to be held with the employees unless the strike was called off and flight operations restored.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Ismail Miftah, has said that no decision has been reached as yet regarding setting up of a new airline. He said that PIA has already suffered huge losses due to strike and the government wants to settle the matters by Monday. “The government wants the employees to be back at work”, said Miftah.
