Decision to reject Sindh's summary on Rangers' powers not yet taken: Pervaiz Rashid

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday said that the federation hasn’t yet decided on rejecting Sindh Assembly’s summary on Rangers’ special powers, Dunya News reported.

Talking to the media, Rashid said the legal experts of the federal government are evaluating the summary. He said the Interior Minister will brief the media over it.

He said the decision on the summary will be according to the law and constitution, adding that the due process of the law will be followed.

The federal minister said strengthening Rangers’ successes in Karachi is joint responsibility of the federation and Sindh governments. He said Karachi operation was and still is the need of the hour.

“Our government is eying elimination of terrorism”, he said. Answering a question on the possibility of Governor’s rule in Sindh, he said no such option has surfaced.

Pervaiz Rashid said the law is equal for everyone and that their government does not become obstacle in the way of law.
