Parliamentarians donate one-month salary for flood affectees

The parliamentarians announced to donate their one-month salary to the Prime Minister Relief Fund while the 17th grade government officials would donate one-day salary. Prime Minister Gilani chaired a cabinet meeting in Islamabad, which was attended by the CMs of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa besides Punjab senior minister Zulfiqar Khosa and Balochistan representatives to review the floods and the ensuing destruction. The PM also advised the parliamentarians and public to avoid Aftar parties and donate for the flood affectees. The premier assured that all the aid would be utilized for the affectees in a transparent manner. Gilani also directed the chairman NDMA to assess the losses incurred by the floods so to chart out a comprehensive rehabilitation programme. The PM also announced to celebrate the Independence Day simply and slash the government expenditures.
