CJ says all institutions are liable to observe basic human rights, citizens must be given rights

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) has on Saturday said that there is a need to achieve practical goals and make the institutions of the country functions. He said that all the institutions are liable to observe the basic human rights and the basic human rights must be available to every citizen, reported Dunya News.

Addressing a ceremony of the Supreme Court Bar Association, CJP said that if a state is built without considering the social norms of a society then it fragments the society into many sects. He said that mutual unity is gradually dying down in the societies. He said that it is important for a state to succeed that every person is given platform for his complaints to be addressed.

The CJP said that the 2002 Police Order was never implemented in its true spirit. He said that class division and hatred have formed a gulf among the masses. “We must create harmony among the people and the state so that the state can fulfill the basic objective for which it was created and the welfare of the people can be ensured”, said the CJ.
