NA-122: Verdict finally given, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is Bowled
Imran Khan had earlier said PTI won't protest if loses but the result was eventually in his favor
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – NA-122 verdict is finally out on Saturday and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has been given out by election tribunal headed by Justice Kazim Malik. The tribunal has said that a re-poll will be held in the constituency, reported Dunya News.
According to details, the decision was delayed for several hours as writing of the decision took longer than usual but finally the decision was against Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader. Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had earlier said that he would accept the decision and no protests will be held even if the decision is against the party but the decision vindicated his stance.
The tribunal also overruled the PP-147 result and re-polling will be held on both the seats now within next 60 days.
On the other hand, Ayaz Sadiq s lawyer has announced that the decision does not say that rigging was proved and it has only ordered re-polling due to irregularities and therefore, he will move to Supreme Court and challenge the tribunal s decision.
