Police recover suspect's car involved in attack on Wasim Akram
Security officers have registered a case against unidentified suspects in Baharabad police station.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police officers have recovered the suspect s car involved in an attack on former national cricket player Wasim Akram, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
The car having number plate AEG 061 was confiscated from a bungalow in Khayaban-e-Hilal area of Defence.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gulshan Iqbal, the car s number is same however, its color is different as explained by fast bowler Wasim Akram. He said the car was parked in the house for a long time and that its owner Uzair Malik is on an abroad tour.
Moreover, police have registered a case against unidentified suspects under the provisions of aerial firing and threatening to kill in Baharabad police station.
Earlier, cricket legend Wasim Akram’s car was shot at on Karsaz Road in Karachi on his way to the National Stadium, Bowling Camp.
Reportedly, unknown person(s) bumped their vehicle into Wasim Akram’s car and opened fire after verbal brawl. Akram was unhurt after the firing attack and he noted the offending vehicle number and gave it to the police. The police say that the attacker was possibly under influence.
“This is a road rage incident and can happen in any country”, said the former Test cricketer.
SSP East told that Wasim Akram himself called and informed the police about the attack, adding that the attacker was under drug influence.
