CTD personnel gun down LeJ chief Malik Ishaq, two sons in Muzaffargarh

Bodies of the killed have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ)

MUZAFFARGARH (Dunya News) – Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday has killed banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) chief Malik Ishaq among 14 wanted militants in an early morning encounter in Shahpur.

The killed militants include two sons of Ishaq, Usman and Haq Nawaz.

The security forces were taking Ishaq for identification of suspects arrested at another location when accomplices opened fire on the convoy. The security troops reciprocated the fire and killed as many as 14 terrorists including LeJ chief after he was able to flee.

At least six CTD personnel sustained injuries in the incident. Active worker of the banned outfit, Ghulam Rasool Shah was also gunned down. Bodies of the killed terrorists have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ).

Earlier on Saturday, Ishaq was arrested under Maintenance of Public Order Act.
