Low-level flood at Head Qadirabad, 400,000 cusecs flood torrent reaches Layyah
Water level is continuously rising in Indus River at Head Taunsa and Guddu Barrage.
(Web Desk) – Several villages have been inundated as water torrent of 131,000 cusecs passed through River Chenab at Head Qadirabad in Mandi Bahauddin on Tuesday morning, Dunya News reported.
Low-lying areas were submerged in floodwater due to erosion of land at Qadirabad and Farrukhpur Bhattian.
On the other hand, water inflow at Head Panjnad in Muzaffargarh is 84,133 and outflow is 69,353 cusecs.
Water level is continuously rising in Indus River at Head Taunsa and Guddu Barrage.
A flood torrent of 400,000 cusecs from Chashma Barrage has entered Layyah, affecting low-lying areas in the city.
Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Jawad Akram said that his department is keeping a vigilant eye on the flow of water in rivers and nullahs during the rainy season.
In a statement, he said information is being provided through Lahore Flood Warning center to the people regarding flood alert.
Meanwhile, a control room has been established in the office of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar to monitor flood situation in the city during the monsoon rains.
